Patients treated at Valley Central must be referred by their family veterinarian and will only be treated for the condition for which they were referred. No routine procedures, such as vaccinations, spay/neuter, parasite control, are offered here. Twenty-four hour patient care is provided for all of our hospitalized patients.
CARDIOLOGY
The cardiologist sees appointments by referral only every other Wednesday. The cardiology department appointment hours are 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. We ask that all new patients bring the most recent radiographs and history from the referring veterinarian. All new patients should withhold food and water after 10:00 PM the night before.
INTERNAL MEDICINE
The doctors see appointments Monday – Friday by referral only. Internal medicine appointment hours are 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Ultrasound appointments are Tuesday and Thursday, drop-off only. Drop-off appointments are normally scheduled on weekdays between 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM and may be as early as 7:30 AM. The patient may be picked up as late as 6:00 PM on weekdays. We ask that all new patients bring radiographs and history from the referring veterinarian. All new patients should withhold food or water after 10:00 PM the night before their scheduled appointment.
NUCLEAR MEDICINE
Appointments are seen on Mondays between the hours of 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM. If your cat is a good candidate for the radioactive iodine procedure, the cat will stay with us Monday evening and be treated on Tuesday. We ask that all new clients hand carry their pet’s radiographs from the referring veterinarian.
SURGERY
The surgeons see appointments by referral only Monday – Friday. Our appointment hours are 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Drop-offs for scheduled surgeries can be as early as 7:30 AM. The patient may be picked up as late as 6:00 PM. We ask that all new patients bring radiographs and history from the referring veterinarian. All new patients should withhold food or water after 10:00 PM the night before.
DAILY UPDATES
If your pet has been hospitalized, we know you are anxious to receive an update as soon as possible. The technicians are able to give the most complete information after the doctors have done rounds and lab work has been completed. Rounds are between 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM, therefore we ask clients to call after 10:00 AM. After business hours updates may be given by the emergency staff at (610) 435-5588.
VISITATION
We know and understand how difficult it is to leave your pet in the hospital. If your pet must be hospitalized, you are welcome to visit the day after the procedure. Valley Central hours for visitation are Monday – Friday, 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM. We ask that clients limit the visitation to 30 minutes or less. Visitation may also be arranged after hours, through Valley Central Emergency, by calling (610) 435-5588.
PHARMACY
After your specialist’s approval, prescription refills in-house can be filled by faxing the information to (610) 435-6378 or by leaving a voicemail. When refilling prescriptions by fax and phone, please allow 24 hours for prescriptions to be filled. Prescriptions may be picked up during normal business hours, Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
EMERGENCIES AFTER HOURS
If your pet has an emergency during the day, please contact your local, primary care veterinarian. If the emergency is after business hours, please call the Emergency Center at (610) 435-5588 or contact your local veterinarian.
